Estimate your ideal body weight from your height and sex using three classic formulas — Devine, Robinson and Miller — shown as a healthy range. Switch between metric and imperial units.
Informational only — not medical advice. Formulas use height and sex only, not frame, muscle or age. Consult a professional.
What is an ideal weight calculator? An ideal weight calculator estimates a healthy body weight for your height and sex using established medical formulas, shown as a range.
Several formulas estimate ideal weight from height. Using height in inches above 5 feet (60 inches): Devine — men 50 + 2.3 × (inches − 60) kg, women 45.5 + 2.3 × (inches − 60) kg. Robinson — men 52 + 1.9 × (inches − 60), women 49 + 1.7 × (inches − 60). Miller — men 56.2 + 1.41 × (inches − 60), women 53.1 + 1.36 × (inches − 60). This tool shows the range across all three.
There is no single agreed formula for ideal weight, so different equations give slightly different results. Showing the lowest and highest of the Devine, Robinson and Miller estimates gives a realistic healthy range rather than a false-precision single value.
Ideal body weight formulas are rough guides based only on height and sex. They do not account for muscle mass, frame size, age or body composition. Treat the result as informational only and consult a healthcare professional for a personalized target.
