Multiply the length in feet by the width in feet. For example, a room 12 feet long and 10 feet wide is 12 × 10 = 120 square feet.
Calculate the square footage of each room separately (length × width), then add all of the areas together for the total square footage.
Divide the measurement in inches by 12 to get feet before multiplying. For example, 18 inches is 18 ÷ 12 = 1.5 feet.
